CSR & cause campaigns
WHAT IS IT?
CSR and cause campaigns are how a brand does visible good without the varnish: social, cultural and environmental projects that produce real outcomes — not a report nobody reads. Done right, they build the brand precisely because they aren't about the brand.
For a responsible creative agency this isn't a side dish. Ethical and ecological thinking is built into every stage of our process — an eco-checklist in production, sustainability among our campaign KPIs — so a CSR brief lands on prepared ground.
THE BICKERSTAFF WAY
We hold CSR work to the same standard as any campaign: a true insight, a conflict that earns attention, and results you can count. No purpose-washing — if the initiative wouldn't survive without the logo on it, we'll tell you before the audience does.
The proof: for Sense Bank we built "The Light of Fairy Tales" — a shadow-theatre kit rooted in Ukrainian tales that works in shelters and blackouts. With charity store Laska we turned discarded clothes into corporate merch: 3.4M impressions and 27 company orders in 10 days on zero media budget. For No Waste Ukraine we "recycled" trash movies into comedy ads and put recycling into the mainstream conversation — 4 million people reached.
WHAT WE TYPICALLY DO
- CSR campaigns that produce measurable social or environmental outcomes
- Cause and charity campaigns built to earn media, not buy it
- Sustainability communication without greenwashing
- Cultural and community projects for brands and institutions
FAQ
How do you measure a CSR campaign?
Same KPI frame as any campaign — reach, engagement, brand metrics — plus the outcome that actually matters: orders of upcycled merch, recycling adoption, kits in families' hands. If the good isn't countable, it's a press release.
Will a CSR campaign help the brand commercially?
When it's true, yes: earned media, brand favorability, and the kind of trust advertising can't buy. When it's fake, audiences smell it — which is why we filter for truth first.
We're not a 'purpose brand'. Can we still do this?
That's often better. A dairy brand, a bank or a delivery app doing one real, well-crafted good thing beats a purpose brand doing ten vague ones.
